Cocaine Vessel Captured in Spain is Managed by Serenity Shipping Company With ISM Manager based in Turkey

An investigative report has revealed that the cargo vessel Arconian, bearing IMO number 8807349, which was intercepted in Spain in connection with a cocaine trafficking operation, is reportedly managed by Serenity Shipping Company, based at 20 Off Main Motor Road, Juba Hill, Freetown.
According to the investigation, the vessel departed Freetown on April 22, 2026, at approximately 16:14 GMT. Maritime tracking records show that the 91-meter general cargo ship, with a 15-meter beam and call sign D6A4347, was sailing under the Comoros flag and heading toward the Mediterranean when Spanish authorities intercepted it.
Further findings indicate that the vessel was previously named Nur Zeynep and had reportedly operated under the Sierra Leone flag since February 2026 before its registration changed. Investigation also traced the vessel’s management structure to Turkey.
The report states that Serenity Shipping Company was responsible for the commercial management of the vessel and its cargo operations, while Nisa Uluslararasi Deniz, handled the technical management and operational maintenance of the ship during both active voyages and inactive periods.
The interception of the vessel has raised fresh concerns within maritime and security circles regarding cargo monitoring, vessel registration, and transnational shipping operations linked to West Africa.
Spanish authorities are continuing investigations into the alleged drug trafficking network and the circumstances surrounding the vessel’s operations.
More details will follow in subsequent editions.
