Deputy Leader of Govt Business Exposes Frosty Relationship Between Education Minister and His Deputies

The Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Hon. Bashiru Silikie, has raised concerns over an alleged frosty relationship between the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Conrad O. Sackey, and his deputies, as well as some staff members at the Ministry.
Silikie made the revelation while questioning Minister Sackey in Parliament over the withholding of more than 47,000 WASSCE results and other concerns surrounding the education sector.
He told Parliament that the Minister’s relationship with his deputies was strained, further alleging that he did not enjoy a cordial working relationship with some staff at the Ministry.
Responding to the allegations, Minister Sackey dismissed suggestions of any strained relationship, insisting that he maintains a cordial working relationship with his colleagues.

He explained that his two deputies were absent from the parliamentary engagement for different reasons, noting that one was representing him at a function at the Office of the Vice President, while the other was attending to a personal matter.
The exchange has brought fresh attention to questions surrounding working relationships and coordination within the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
