Information reaching Voice of Salone Newspaper reveals that in April 2026, a fishing boat known as Shainkay Stars reportedly found 22 boxes of cocaine at sea, loaded them onto the boat, and later landed at Portee Wharf. The Kissy Police Division, according to our information, acting on a tip-off, stormed the scene and allegedly took possession of the 22 cartons of cocaine before transporting them to the police station.
“When the police intercepted the cocaine, they fired teargas at the scene and the situation became tense. The community was thrown into panic as police officers carried away the drugs. On their way to the station, one of the cartons reportedly opened and some of the cocaine was allegedly scattered among officers. However, only 15 cartons of the drugs were reportedly recorded at the Kissy Police Station,” our confidant revealed.
Our source further disclosed that operational officers attached to the Kissy Police Division were part of the operation.
Community stakeholders at Portee Wharf also confirmed the incident to this press, stating that the alleged drug seizure occurred in April at about 11 a.m. when the Shainkay Stars fishing boat docked with the suspected cocaine onboard.
Efforts made by this medium to get an official response from the Sierra Leone Police regarding the allegations have so far proven unsuccessful. More on this in subsequent editions.
