Africell, Afrimoney Boost East End Lions’ CAF Campaign with NLe150,000
Africell and Afrimoney Sierra Leone have provided NLe150,000 in financial support to East End Lions Football Club as the club prepares to represent Sierra Leone in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
The support was presented on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, as East End Lions intensifies preparations for its upcoming continental campaign.
Speaking during the presentation, Afrimoney Chief Executive Officer, Martison Obeng-Agyei, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting sports development in Sierra Leone.
He said Afrimoney and Africell consider sports an important platform for empowering young people and promoting Sierra Leone’s image beyond its borders. He also pledged the companies’ continued support to East End Lions throughout the competition.
Obeng-Agyei urged the players to remain focused, disciplined and determined as they prepare to represent both the club and the country on the continental stage.
The presentation was witnessed by Africell Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer, Shadi Gergerwi, and staff of Africell and Afrimoney.
Receiving the support on behalf of East End Lions, the club’s Secretary General, Alpha Jalloh Esq., expressed appreciation to Africell and Afrimoney for their continued partnership and contribution to the development of the club.
Jalloh said the funding would help the club meet some of the key expenses associated with its continental campaign, including travel, accommodation, venue arrangements and other logistical requirements.
With the first-leg fixture scheduled to take place in Abidjan and the return leg expected at the SKD Stadium in Liberia, Jalloh said the support had come at a crucial time as the club steps up its preparations.
He described the partnership with Africell and Afrimoney as an important boost for East End Lions as the club prepares to compete at a higher level of African club football.
The financial support is expected to strengthen the club’s preparations as East End Lions seeks to make a strong impression in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup and proudly fly the flag of Sierra Leone on the continental stage.
