UBA Sierra Leone Secures Double Honors at 10th African Ovation Awards

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone has recorded a major milestone, clinching multiple accolades at the 10th edition of the African Ovation Awards held on April 25, 2026.
Renowned for celebrating excellence, innovation, and impact across the continent, the African Ovation Awards has evolved into a respected platform that recognizes outstanding organizations and individuals driving development in Africa. This year’s edition attracted top performers from various sectors, making the competition both intense and prestigious.

UBA Sierra Leone emerged as one of the standout institutions of the night, earning the Corporate Excellence Award as Best Bank of the Year. The recognition underscores the bank’s consistent performance, customer-centric approach, and significant contribution to Sierra Leone’s financial sector.
The bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, was also honored with the Best Corporate Leader of the Year award. The accolade reflects his strategic leadership and the pivotal role he has played in strengthening the bank’s growth and operational direction.

Further recognition went to Sallieu Sesay, Head of Branding, Marketing, and Corporate Communications, who received the Professional Excellence Award for his contributions to enhancing the bank’s brand visibility and customer engagement.
Representing the bank at the ceremony were Brima Daramy, Head of Corporate Banking; Kelvin Sheku, Regional Head; Augustine Martin, External and Media Relations Officer; and James Titus Abu, Social Media and Website Coordinator. Their presence highlighted the strong teamwork and collaborative effort behind the bank’s continued success.
