Tripartite Agreement Should be Tabled in Parliament

The All People’s Congress (APC) has called for the Tripartite Agreement to be formally tabled in Parliament, following high-level engagements with International Moral Guarantors aimed at advancing its implementation.
The position emerged from a meeting between the APC’s parliamentary leadership and the International Moral Guarantors, where discussions focused on sustaining dialogue and resolving the country’s protracted political impasse.
Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Abdul Kargbo, described the engagement as “constructive and forward-looking,” noting that deliberations ended with a strong recommendation for the agreement to be laid before Parliament as a key step toward implementation.
He emphasized that presenting the agreement to Parliament would enhance transparency and establish a clear legislative framework to guide its execution.
The Moral Guarantors also urged the opposition—particularly APC Members of Parliament—to resume their legislative duties by returning to the well of Parliament and taking up their seats. They stressed that active participation in the House is vital for strengthening dialogue, building consensus, and advancing the implementation process.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts by international partners to support political stability and ensure the effective rollout of the Tripartite Agreement in Sierra Leone.
