ACC, Immigration Department Seal Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Efforts

“We are committed to building institutions where integrity is embedded, not enforced as an afterthought.”

These were the words of the Deputy Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Augustine Foday-Ngobie, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sierra Leone Immigration Department earlier today.

The agreement was formalized at Integrity House, Tower Hill in Freetown, marking a significant step toward strengthening transparency, accountability, and integrity in immigration service delivery nationwide.

The MoU reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to tackle corruption risks—particularly at key national entry and exit points. It comes at a critical time when reinforcing public trust and safeguarding institutional credibility remain top priorities.

This strategic partnership is designed to address systemic vulnerabilities within immigration processes while promoting ethical standards, professionalism, and efficiency. It sends a clear message of zero tolerance for corruption in the delivery of public services.

Under the agreement, the ACC and SLID will enhance collaboration in intelligence sharing, preventive measures, capacity building, and sustained public education—core pillars aimed at proactively combating corruption and protecting Sierra Leone’s national image.
