French Customs Seize Massive Cocaine Shipment Linked To ‘Bolle Jos’ Network
French customs authorities have intercepted a massive shipment of cocaine aboard a cargo vessel travelling from Ghana to Antwerp, with reports suggesting that part of the consignment may be linked to the criminal network of fugitive Dutch drug kingpin Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos.”
According to reports, the vessel was intercepted at the French port of Dunkirk during its final stop before reaching Antwerp. Authorities reportedly acted on intelligence and conducted a targeted inspection rather than a routine search.
Leijdekkers, one of Europe’s most wanted fugitives, is believed to be hiding in Sierra Leone. He was sentenced in absentia by a Dutch court to 24 years in prison for offences including involvement in multiple cocaine shipments totaling nearly 7,000 kilograms.
The latest seizure comes amid a series of major cocaine interceptions across France involving trucks and international trafficking networks. In recent weeks, French authorities have seized hundreds of kilograms of cocaine concealed in vehicles travelling through the country.
Dutch and French investigators are reportedly examining possible connections between the latest multi-ton shipment and Leijdekkers’ criminal organisation.
The development adds to growing international pressure to dismantle the cocaine trafficking networks allegedly linked to the fugitive Dutch drug kingpin.
