The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Abdul Kargbo, has called on the Government of Sierra Leone to cooperate with international authorities and extradite fugitive drug kingpin Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos.”
Speaking during an interview on AYV Television, Hon. Kargbo emphasized the need for decisive action by the government to demonstrate its commitment to combating transnational organized crime and distancing the country from allegations of harboring international fugitives.
“My hope is to ensure that stringent measures are taken, and I urge the Government to agree to extradite the fugitive drug lord Bolle Jos, who has reportedly been found in Sierra Leone,” Kargbo stated. “When you want to dissociate yourself from such allegations, you must work frantically towards that objective by taking concrete actions.”
The opposition leader further noted that since reports emerged linking Leijdekkers to Sierra Leone, the country’s image has increasingly been associated with drug-related activities and international trafficking concerns.
According to Kargbo, the government must act swiftly and transparently to protect Sierra Leone’s reputation and reassure both citizens and the international community of its commitment to the rule of law.
The presence of the internationally wanted fugitive in Sierra Leone has generated significant public debate, with growing calls from various quarters for the government to clarify its position and cooperate fully with international law enforcement agencies.
Kargbo’s remarks add to the mounting pressure on authorities to address the issue and demonstrate that Sierra Leone remains committed to fighting drug trafficking and organized crime.
