Ady Macauley Breaks New Ground in Kono’s Dorgboi, Strengthens 2026 APC Flagbearer Bid

By Alhaji Musa Bah

Ady Macauley, a prominent contender for the 2026 All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer position, made history on August 1, 2025, by becoming the first aspirant to set foot in Dorgboi — a remote farming and mining community in Kono District.

Macauley’s arrival drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, including women’s groups, youth associations, market vendors, and local leaders, all eager to hear his message of unity and development.

Local stakeholders hailed the visit as unprecedented. Councillor Mohamed Abads Kanu offered a ringing endorsement, describing Macauley as a “wonderful leader” whose integrity and vision could help drive national progress. He urged him to remain steadfast in promoting unity and development if chosen to lead the APC.

In response, Macauley reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of unity, accountability, and inclusive governance. He pledged to prioritize local infrastructure development, including renovations to Dorgboi’s community center, and vowed that under his leadership, communities like Dorgboi would no longer be neglected.

Residents viewed Macauley’s river crossing into the village as a symbolic show of determination, with some suggesting it signaled his potential status as a frontrunner in the APC’s 2026 leadership race.

As the contest for the APC flagbearer intensifies, Macauley’s grassroots outreach — particularly in historically overlooked communities — may prove to be a decisive factor in shaping both the party’s future and the 2028 national elections.
