State House Confirms President Bio’s Private Visit Amid Speculation

State House has confirmed that President Julius Maada Bio was on a private visit outside the country, amid widespread speculation about his whereabouts.
The confirmation was made by the Director of Communications at State House, Michael Brewa, during an interview on Epic Radio. However, he declined to disclose the President’s exact location.
“Why can I tell you about the whereabouts of the President? That is not the reason I am here, and as far as I am concerned, the President is safe and fine,” Brewa stated during the broadcast.
The clarification from State House follows claims made by opposition figure Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, who alleged that President Bio is stranded in Dubai and unable to return home due to the closure of airspace across parts of the Middle East.
According to Mansaray, he had received what he described as credible information indicating that the President traveled to Dubai on a private visit and is now unable to return as a result of escalating regional tensions.
The claims have fueled public speculation, with some suggesting that the President may have traveled to Lebanon for medical reasons, while others maintain that he is in Dubai on a personal trip.
The latest flare-up in hostilities in the Middle East has reportedly led several countries in the region to temporarily close their airspace as a precautionary security measure. Aviation authorities have acknowledged widespread flight disruptions, with major international carriers suspending or rerouting flights in response to the volatile security situation.
While State House has confirmed that the President is on a private visit and safe, it has neither confirmed nor denied reports placing him in Dubai or any other specific location.
The situation continues to generate public interest as Sierra Leoneans await further official communication.
