RCBank Champions Digital Innovation and Financial Inclusion at Sierra Leone–Canada Summit

Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank) has reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation and financial inclusion following a high-level presentation at the Second Sierra Leone–Canada Trade, Investment and Cultural Summit (SLCA 2026) held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Representing the Bank at the summit, Dr. Walton Gilpin delivered the keynote address during the Digital Technology and Investment session under the theme: “Digital Trust and Financial Inclusion: Building a Modern Banking Ecosystem for International Investors.”
Dr. Gilpin highlighted the importance of trusted financial systems, secure digital platforms, and modern banking infrastructure in building investor confidence and facilitating cross-border investments between Sierra Leone and Canada.
Addressing an audience of policymakers, investors, fintech innovators, banking professionals, and business leaders, he emphasized that digital trust, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and inclusive financial services are critical pillars for developing a resilient banking ecosystem capable of supporting sustainable economic growth.
He outlined RCBank’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives, highlighting the institution’s investments in technology-driven solutions aimed at expanding access to financial services while maintaining strong standards of security, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
Dr. Gilpin noted that these innovations are designed to bridge financial gaps, particularly for underserved communities, while providing international investors with confidence in Sierra Leone’s evolving financial sector.
