A shocking investigation has implicated the Bio government in shielding the EU’s most wanted drug kingpin, Jos Leijdekkers — popularly known in Sierra Leone as “Bolle Jos.”
According to the report, Leijdekkers wields extraordinary influence in Sierra Leone, allegedly controlling key sectors of government. He is said to have lavished senior officials with extravagant gifts. “That man bought expensive cars for ministers and several heads of state apparatus,” his former housekeeper revealed. Security guards at State Lodge — the luxurious presidential residence — also took notice of a sharply dressed visitor who appeared there regularly.
Upon leaving the premises, witnesses say, he would toss $100 bills to the crowd of guards before stepping into his luxury SUV. Among the staff, one Omar Sheriff came to be nicknamed “Jagaban” — a local term for a wealthy and influential figure who commands respect, akin to a king.
“He had everyone in his pocket, throwing around huge amounts of money,” a source familiar with Leijdekkers’ operations told New Lines. “That man bought expensive cars for ministers, the head of the military, and the head of the police. They all benefited from him,” his former housekeeper reiterated.
With state officials allegedly clearing the way for his activities, Leijdekkers soon became a familiar face in Freetown’s elite circles — often seen with Agnes Bio, the president’s daughter from an extramarital relationship. Educated in France and Switzerland, Agnes served as an adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after her father took office, later joining Sierra Leone’s U.N. mission in New York. In Freetown, she was known as a nightlife fixture, mingling with local celebrities.
Though it is unclear when she and Leijdekkers first met, by mid-2024 they were publicly seen as a couple. “The Turk” — as some called him — became widely recognized as her “white lover,” cementing his integration into the presidential inner circle.
