APC Calls For Open Negotiation

Secretary General of the All People’s Congress Party, Lansana Dumbuya, has called for an open dialogue between the APC and Government to enable the people of SierraLeoneans to get a better understanding about the proposed negotiation process.

“We are calling for an open negotiation process between our party and Government as that would help the people of Sierra Leone to follow the process and examine who is dogmatic, and unreasonable in the negotiation process or not”, the APC Secretary General averred, and assured that the party would never betray the trust of the grassroots and will seek their interest throughout the negotiation process.

He also expressed the party’s willingness to dialogue with the Government for a fair and transparent negotiation process.

According to reliable information, everything is now set for the dialogue to take place on 25th September,2023 between the APC and the Government. The conflicting parties have agreed to seat-down and iron out the problem for the betterment of mama Salone.

In a communique of Preliminary engagement on mediation dialogue between the APC and Government, the Independent Peace Commission in Collaboration with Commonwealth and ECOWAS informed the general public that that they had held a fruitful dialogue with the APC led by the party leader Dr. Samura Kamara and the Government delegation led by the Chief Minister, David Sengeh.

During the engagement, the team met with  President Julius Maada Bio, Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Former President His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma, the Electoral Commission and the National Security Coordinator in the Office of National Security, Abdulai Coker. All the parties demonstrated their willingness to build consensus and foster dialogue in the interest of mama Salone.

The preliminary engagements are part of the broader framework for a mediated dialogue between the Government and the APC.
