Bo Businessman Makes Lotto History, Wins Le170,000 with Five-Number Prediction

By PR Department, Mercury International
A local businessman based in Bo has etched his name in the record books after emerging as one of the biggest winners in Mercury International’s lottery history, correctly predicting five winning numbers in a single draw.
Popularly known as Mr. Kargbo, the middle-aged entrepreneur staked just Le2 and accurately selected the Mercury Bomber draw numbers—2, 4, 67, 90, and 78—during last Thursday’s draw on April 9, 2026. His remarkable prediction earned him a total payout of Le170,000 after tax.
The cheque was presented at Mercury International’s head office on Krootown Road in Freetown by the company’s Managing Director, Martin Edmond Michael, who described the feat as both historic and extraordinary.
“This is a rare and remarkable achievement. It is extremely difficult for a player to correctly predict all five numbers in a single draw,” Mr. Michael stated. “That is why we often encourage players to try two or three numbers. But Mr. Kargbo has defied the odds and made history.”
He disclosed that following the win, Mr. Kargbo requested that the presentation be held in Freetown so he could personally share his experience with the public.
The Managing Director congratulated the winner and advised him to make prudent investments with his winnings. He also used the opportunity to remind the public about the company’s ongoing Mercury Bet Online promotion, which offers participants a chance to win a brand-new house.
“You cannot win if you don’t play. However, we urge everyone to play responsibly and only stake what they can afford,” he cautioned, adding that individuals under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from participating in any of the company’s games.
Speaking after receiving his cheque, an elated Mr. Kargbo described the win as a dream come true, especially as it comes just days before his birthday.
“This is a huge blessing for me. I am very grateful to Mercury International for this opportunity,” he said.
He encouraged others to continue trusting the company, while also advising players of Mercury International’s sports betting and lottery games to remain patient and hopeful.
The win marks a significant milestone for both the company and the player, reinforcing the excitement and life-changing potential of lottery gaming in Sierra Leone
