After going through several Challenges in life… Fortune Smiles on LAJ

By Kelvin Jay
After going through several challenges in life including his incarceration at Prison, Alhaji Amadu popularly known as LAJ has received a breakthrough by getting a Presidential appointment where he is supposed to serve as Peace Ambassador in the current administration.
According to a letter signed by the Secretary to the President dated 12th February,2024, it states how it has pleased “His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio to appoint you (Alhaji Amadu Bah) as peace Ambassador. Your duties include, among others are: Assist in the promotion of peace, reconciliation and unity in Sierra Leone, and Peace related matters abroad; Assist in building peace cultures, enhance tolerance and support peaceful resolution of conflicts; any other duties assigned by His Excellency the President from time to time”, the letter reads.
However, theologians described LAJ appointment as what God cannot do does not exist, thereby recalling the trails he had encountered in life, which according to them, are meant to clear his path for the benefit he has received today.
“Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path”, the theologians stated while quoting Paulo Coelho.
Prior to his appointment, LAJ had been campaigning for peace and reconciliation, stating that ‘‘Sierraleone is the only country we have”. His call for peace and cohesion was amplified in a lyrical song he did together with Kaodenero titled “Salone big pass we all”.
Accepting the appointment, LAJ demonstrated how he is ready and humbled to serve as Peace Ambassador. “I recognize the immense responsibility that comes with this position and I am committed to upholding the values of peace, reconciliation, and unity in the region”, he said, noting how SierraLeone holds a special place in his heart, and that he is eager to contribute to the continued progress and stability in the country.
He continued: “I will work tirelessly to foster dialogue and understanding among all communities, promoting tolerance and respect for diversity. Building upon the country’s rich cultural heritage, and to engage with local leaders and grassroots organizations to address underlying social and economic issues.
Together, we can create a brighter future for generations to come. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside dedicated individuals who share a common vision for a peaceful Sierra Leone. Let us embark on this journey together, guided by compassion, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to lasting peace. With determination and perseverance, we can overcome any challenges that may arise along the way”.
