ECSL Boss Challenges APC Presidential Candidate

Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Mohamed Konneh, has thrown an open challenge on the APC Presidential Candidate, Samura Kamara, stressing that he is not going to resign, as demanded by Samura Kamara, within 72 hours.  The ECSL Boss made his stance clear during the launch of a project, ‘Saful Elections’, at the Freetown Conference Centre.
“I am not going to resign. I will conduct this election as much as early voting has started by pilgrims”, the ECSL Boss maintained, and called on all Political Parties to continue their campaign and encourage their supporters to cast their votes in the June 24 Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council Elections.

It could be recalled that at a special press conference held at the new Brookfield hotel, Samura Kamara gave 72 hours’ ultimatum to the ECSL Boss to resign, and called for an acclaimed international organization to conduct the election. Samura Kamara gave the reason why he keeps insisting for the resignation of the ECSL Boss and Commissioners, which according to him, was borne out of the suspicion that the ECSL wants to rig the Election in favour of the SLPP.
Ihn another hand, the SLPP endorsed the ECSL Boss to stay and continue his work and also to respond to Samura Kamara’s demands, describing as unreasonable demands aimed at usurping the sovereignty of Sierra Leone.
