APC To Elect Radical Flagbearer for 2028 Elections

The Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya, has disclosed that the party is planning to elect a radical and uncompromising flagbearer to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a recent political engagement, Mr. Dumbuya stated that the APC is taking a paradigm shift from choosing “soft” leadership to electing a bold, assertive, and resolute leader who will not tolerate electoral malpractice.
“The APC is coming hard this time,” he declared. “We are ready to elect a flagbearer who will resist any form of electoral rigging.”
Mr. Dumbuya emphasized that the chosen flagbearer must be prepared to protect the votes of the electorate and defend democratic integrity by all legitimate means necessary.
He noted that the party’s new strategy is rooted in a growing demand among supporters for a strong and fearless leader who can confront electoral challenges head-on.
Dumbuya also informed party supporters about the appointment of Balogun Koroma to lead the party’s Census Committee, and urged all members to actively participate in the upcoming census process.
“Make sure you are counted,” he encouraged, noting that proper enumeration is crucial for representation and national planning.
In a more pointed accusation, Mr. Dumbuya claimed that the APC won the 2023 presidential election, but that the will of the electorate was stolen by the ruling SLPP government, largely due to what he described as the “softness” of the APC’s former flagbearer.
“We are not going to allow a repeat of what happened in 2023,” he warned. “We won’t take it lightly in 2028 if the SLPP attempts to rig the election.”
In a charged remark that drew applause, he concluded:“Let Maada Bio construct another prison, because we are going to strongly resist any electoral rigging in 2028.”
Mr. Dumbuya’s remarks mark a hardline stance by the APC as it prepares for 2028 — setting the tone for what may be a highly contested electoral season.
