UBA Sierra Leone MD/CEO Hails Sekou Amadou Bah’s Transformational Leadership at Orange Sierra Leone

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Sierra Leone, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, has praised the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Sekou Amadou Bah, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to advancing digital financial inclusion in Sierra Leone.

Mr. Samoura made the commendation while speaking at Sekou Amadou Bah’s Farewell Cocktail Dinner held on Tuesday, 13 January, at the Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown. He highlighted the strong and strategic partnership between UBA Sierra Leone and Orange Sierra Leone, noting that UBA was among the first banks to be onboarded onto the Orange Money Bank-to-Wallet platform, a move that significantly expanded access to formal banking services, particularly in underserved and unbanked communities.

He further applauded Mr. Bah for his humility, inclusiveness, and exemplary leadership style, describing his tenure as impactful and transformative for the telecommunications and financial services sectors.

The UBA Sierra Leone MD/CEO also acknowledged Mr. Bah’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and expressed optimism for deeper collaboration between the UBA Foundation and the Orange Foundation to drive sustainable social impact across the country.

Mr. Samoura concluded by extending a warm welcome and best wishes to the incoming Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Madam Aïcha Touré, as she assumes leadership of the company.

The farewell event attracted several high-profile national stakeholders, including the Chief Minister, the Mayor of Freetown, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sierra Leone, Members of Parliament, senior government officials, and executives of Orange Sierra Leone.
