NASSIT Director General Elected Vice Chairman of Africa Social Security Association
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank), Dr. Walton E. Gilpin, has received the Banking Leadership and Service Award from the All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU) in recognition of his outstanding leadership in the banking sector and his unwavering commitment to Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
The prestigious award was presented on January 30, 2026, during AASU’s historic inauguration ceremony held at the Conference Auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra, Ghana.
The event marked the official swearing-in of AASU’s newly elected executive leadership for the 2026–2029 mandate period and was held under the theme “Reimagining Africa’s Education Future.” It brought together policymakers, student leaders, academics, and key stakeholders from across the continent.
Dr. Gilpin’s recognition reflects his strategic leadership at RCBank, where he has championed financial inclusion, institutional reforms, digital banking innovation, and sustainable banking practices. His efforts have strengthened the bank’s role in national development while supporting youth empowerment and education-focused initiatives across Africa.
