NASSIT Boosts Nationwide Service Delivery with New Fleet Commissioning

The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) has commissioned eleven operational vehicles and nine motorbikes to enhance efficiency and service delivery across the country.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, at NASSIT Headquarters in Freetown, marked a significant milestone in the Trust’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its operational capacity and responsiveness to members and pensioners nationwide.

In his address, the Director General described the acquisition as more than just an addition to the Trust’s asset base, noting that it represents a major step in Management’s unwavering commitment to improving service efficiency and accessibility.

“These vehicles and motorbikes are not merely assets; they are a strategic investment in our people and our mission,” he stated. “Given the operational environment and the national reach of the Scheme, speed, stability, and reliability are critical. This fleet equips our staff with the necessary tools to meet the demands of their vital responsibilities and institutional targets.”

He emphasized that the new fleet will significantly expand NASSIT’s outreach, reduce response times, and enhance operations in remote and hard-to-reach communities. The Director General urged staff to handle the vehicles and motorbikes with utmost care and professionalism.

In a strong appeal to public accountability, he called on citizens to monitor the use of the assets and report any instances of misuse.

“All our vehicles are branded with the NASSIT logo, and they represent your contributions. It is our collective responsibility to ensure they are used appropriately. Do not hesitate to report any misuse — appropriate action will be taken,” he stressed.Earlier, handing over the vehicles and motorbikes, Deputy Director General for Administration, Mohammed Gondoe, reminded staff that NASS

IT, as the sole provider of state pension in Sierra Leone, operates under a strategic framework from which annual institutional targets are derived.

He noted that providing operational tools is essential to achieving those targets, describing the commissioning as not just a symbolic handover of keys but a substantial investment in institutional capacity, efficiency, and service excellence.

“These vehicles are not merely tools,” Mr. Gondoe remarked. “They are vital assets that will empower staff, extend our reach, and ensure that our operations are carried out with greater speed, safety, and reliability.”

Receiving the fleet on behalf of the operations team, Deputy Director General for Operations, Edwin Mohamed Kamara, expressed profound appreciation to the Director General for his leadership and forward-thinking vision.

He assured Management that the vehicles and motorbikes would be strategically deployed and properly maintained to maximize operational efficiency and productivity in serving members and pensioners across the country.

The commissioning underscores NASSIT’s continued commitment to strengthening institutional performance and delivering quality, people-centered services nationwide.
