KKY Returns To SLPP

The Leader of the National Grand Coalition, Hon.Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, has returned to the SLPP after tendering his resignation from the NGC.
In his resignation letter dated 13th October,2023, the NGC Political heavyweight said his decision to leave the NGC has not been taken lightly, noting how that was done with mixed emotion.
He continued by stating that for the past few days he had discussion and meetings with the founders group, the youth wing, the elders, and trustee council and the national officers of his party, adding that in 2017 together with many well-meaning SierraLeoneans they embarked on a journey to create the NGC infused with the spirit of “Salone fos” ideology. “our collective vision was to listen to the people, engage in constructive dialogue, and work towards consensus building to achieve a united and prosperous SierraLeone that benefits all its citizens… Our commitment to national cohesion, embracing our diversity as a source of strength, and promoting a sense of national pride transcending political differences has been unwavering”, he added, and expressed his deepest gratitude to his colleagues, all party members and other well-wishers for the immense effort, time, and resources they dedicated in building the NGC. He further disclosed that his appointment to serve as Chairman of climate change, renewable energy and food security is appropriate and is in consistent with the ‘Salone Fos’ mantra.“My responsibilities associated with this role are monumental and require my undivided attention”, says KKY in his letter of resignation.
As the debate about KKY resignation become the talk of the day, a public notice from the Organizing Secretary of the SLPP surfaced on several social media platforms informing the general public of the declaration and welcoming of Hon. Kandeh Yumkella To the SLPP on Saturday 14th October,2023. During that ceremony, KKY received a red-carpet welcome by members, supporters and Well-Wishers of the SLPP. His homecoming has been described as a dream come true.
During his statement, KKY disclosed that the day has finally come for him to return back home. “I am here with my soul and I feel elated to return back to my root”, he said and thereby calling on every SierraLeoneans to support President Bio to make a better Sierra Leone.
He also shed light on the ongoing dialogue between the Government and the opposition, and encouraged all SierraLeoneans to embrace the dialogue for the collective good of mama Salone.
He concluded by calling on all SierraLeoneans to pray for President Bio and himself.
