Attorney General Engages Port Loko Residents on Constitutional Reform

On Tuesday, 6 May 2025 at Port Loko, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq, had an engagement with community members on constitutional reform.
This is part of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education’s outreach series, aimed at bringing the government closer to the people.
During the town hall meeting, Attorney General Sesay emphasized the importance of public participation in the ongoing constitutional review process. He highlighted President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to ensure that the process is led and owned by the people and reflected on the need to bring all Sierra Leoneans on board.
“It is a pleasure for me to engage with community members and to talk about what we are doing in the justice sector,” Sesay remarked, and elaborated on the collaborative nature of the constitutional review process which aimed to ensure that the constitution remains relevant and responsive to the nation’s evolving needs.
The Attorney General also discussed progress in addressing challenges related to access to justice, legal procedures, and judicial efficiency. He reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to creating a fair and accessible legal system for all citizens.
This engagement in Port Loko is part of the government’s broader efforts to involve citizens in shaping the future of Sierra Leone’s legal and governance systems, and ensuring that reforms are grounded in the aspirations and needs of the people.
