Tragedy in Kenema… Rev. Fr. Augustine Amadu Murdered in Brutal Attack
A wave of grief has swept through the Kenema community following the brutal murder of Rev. Fr. Augustine Amadu, a beloved priest of the Immaculate Conception Parish.
According to information received by Voice of Salone Newspaper, Fr. Amadu was attacked and killed in the early hours of Friday morning by unidentified assailants at his residence in the Burma 3 Community.
A preliminary police report states that the incident occurred between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., when the attackers forcibly entered the priest’s compound and fatally assaulted him. The motive for the killing remains unknown at this time.
Fr. Amadu was widely respected for his peaceful spirit, devotion to his faith, and his tireless efforts to uplift the Kenema community. He was also known for his firm stance against crime and moral decay, making his sudden and violent death all the more shocking.
The news has left parishioners and residents of Kenema reeling with sorrow and disbelief.
Police have launched a full-scale investigation and have assured the public that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Fr. Amadu’s body has been transferred to the Kenema Government Hospital mortuary.
