Three NRA Officials Arrested Over Alleged Le 300 Billion Theft

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested and detained three officials of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) attached to the ASYCUDA Department over allegations of financial misappropriation.
According to the ACC, the officials are under investigation for the alleged misappropriation of approximately Le 300 billion (old leones), equivalent to Le 300,000 in redenominated currency. The arrests form part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to probe financial irregularities within key public institutions.
The ACC has not yet disclosed the identities of the suspects or detailed the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged loss of funds. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue in accordance with due legal process.
The Commission has reiterated its commitment to combating corruption and ensuring accountability across all sectors of public service.
