Popularly known as Bola Nicol, the accused is standing trial for Manslaughter for the killing of Sinnah Kai Kargbo. It was alleged that accused Ikubolaji Nicol in October, 2022 at Leicester Village in Freetown conspired with other persons unknown to kill Sinnah Kai Kargbo.
The matter was filed at the Supreme Court by the accused/applicant Ikubolaji Nicol through Rowland SV Wright Solicitors praying, among other things, that the Supreme Court prohibits the sitting High Court from continuing to hear, preside upon, and proceed with the matter.
In a single day, the Honourable Supreme Court Justices, Chief Justice Komba Kamanda (presiding),
A.M. Bangura and Court of Appeal Judge unanimously ordered that the matter be dealt with by a High Court with a newly reassigned Judge who should handle all the issues concerned therein.

The accused/applicant Ikubolaji Nicol was represented by one of the country’s renowned legal luminaries, Roland R.V.Wright Esq. and team, while the State was represented by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP)- Osman Kanu and team.
Accused/applicant Ikubolaji Nicol has been sent back to the Pademba Road male Correctional Center and will now appear in the High Court to face his trial.
Litigants witnessing the Court proceedings were full of praises for the Chief Justice and the two other Judges who sat on the matter for expeditiously dealing with the matter once and for all and more importantly that ruling was delivered the same day.
They also thanked the lawyers on both sides for their commitment to the administration of justice.
