SLPP Reconciliation Committee Engages Prince Harding & First Lady Fatima Bio

The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Reconciliation Committee has held separate meetings with former SLPP Chairman, Dr. Prince Harding, and First Lady, Mrs. Fatima Bio, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity within the party.

The meetings were conducted individually—Dr. Harding was engaged at his residence, while a separate session was held with the First Lady. These engagements come in the wake of a recent social media outburst by Mrs. Bio, in which she accused Dr. Harding of being one of the key figures behind the embarrassment she faced during the State Opening of Parliament.

During their visit to Dr. Harding, the Committee commended him for his steadfast leadership, which played a pivotal role in the SLPP’s electoral successes and its transitions from opposition to governance on two occasions. They also acknowledged his consistent efforts in promoting unity, peace, and reconciliation within the party.

In response, Dr. Harding expressed his appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the SLPP.
“The SLPP is bigger than any individual. I will forever be a patriot of the SLPP,” he stated.

The Reconciliation Committee also urged all party members to refrain from actions—particularly on social media—that could undermine internal cohesion. They emphasized the importance of prioritizing unity, peace, and the overall stability of the party.

During their engagement with the First Lady, the Committee reiterated its firm commitment to promoting reconciliation and ensuring harmony within the SLPP.
