While calling for Peace between the SLPP and the APC, the Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party, Prince Alex Harding, said that his SLPP Government cannot work without the APC and appealed to the APC leadership to come and seat on the table and resolve their differences for the sake of peace and development of this beloved country.
The SLPP scribe continued by appealing to the APC to forget about what all have happened in past and turn to a new page for the sake of peace and development of this country. “If the APC has anything in their sleeves, let them come to the table and iron it out”, he disclosed, and called on all SLPP supporters and sympathizers to forget about the war of words and stretched their hands to the opposition and embrace each other for the sake of peace.
He went to say that he is ready to lead the peace crusade for both parties, but said that if he is seen as the obstacle to the peace, he is ready to be the sacrificial lamb by resigning from his position as Chairman of the SLPP. “I am ready to lead the Peace Crusade, but if at the same time, I am seen as the obstacle to the peace process, I am ready to be the sacrificial lamb”, Prince Harding revealed, noting how he has spoken to all SLPP members and supporters to maintain the peace and distanced themselves from the war of words.
He further revealed that his call for peace resonates with the desire of President Bio. “My call for peace is in line with the vision of the President…President Bio is a man of peace”, he added, further stating that boycott of the APC in the governance architecture has actually undermined the peace and development of this country.
