Six Containers of Suspected Kush Seized in Major Police Operation

In a coordinated anti-drug operation, the Sierra Leone Police have seized three barrels and three cartons containing dried leaves suspected to be kush. The raid was carried out by the Freetown West Region Police after receiving credible intelligence.
The successful operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Regional Commander, AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, whose team swiftly acted on actionable intelligence across multiple locations.
Two of the barrels were recovered from a Serena vehicle with registration number ALA-080, driven by Yussif Sesay. Another barrel was intercepted from a Toyota taxi (API-156) near the Adonkia Cemetery in Goderich. In addition, three cartons of suspected kush were discovered at a nearby residence believed to be owned by a woman identified as Patricia, who is currently on the run.
During preliminary questioning, driver Yussif Sesay claimed he had been contracted by Abdul Rahman Sesay to transport the barrels. Both men are now in police custody. Meanwhile, the taxi driver associated with the Toyota vehicle fled the scene, and a manhunt is underway to locate and arrest him.
All seized items have been secured as exhibits and are awaiting forensic laboratory analysis.
The operation represents a significant disruption to drug trafficking activities within the region and underscores AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma’s commitment to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs in Freetown West.
