Sacked Leone Stars Coach Mohamed Kallon to Break Silence Today Amid ‘Remote Control’ Claims

Sacked Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon is expected to break his silence today, Monday, as earlier announced on his social media platforms, where he promised to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his dismissal and his time in charge of the national team.

In a preview of his remarks, Kallon has already made strong allegations against the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), accusing the football governing body of undue interference in his role as head coach.

Describing his experience, Kallon likened his position to having nominal authority without real control. “SLFA gives me the television, but they hold the remote control to change the channels,” he said, suggesting that critical decisions were influenced or dictated beyond his technical authority.

He argued that such interference has significantly contributed to the stagnation of football development in Sierra Leone over the past three decades, stressing that a lack of independence for coaches continues to undermine progress within the national team structure.

Kallon, a former international star and one of the country’s most prominent football figures, recently parted ways with the national team under unclear circumstances, fueling public debate and speculation.

His anticipated statement today is expected to provide further insights into internal dynamics within the SLFA and could intensify discussions around governance, transparency, and technical autonomy in Sierra Leone’s football administration.

Observers say his revelations may have far-reaching implications for the future management of football in the country.
