President Bio Proposes Power-Sharing with Opposition Members

By Kelvin Jay
Alpha Khan, Presidential Spokesman for President Julius Maada Bio, has revealed that the President is considering a power-sharing arrangement with members of the opposition, aimed at fostering national unity and political cohesion.
Speaking to the media, Khan stated:
“The power-sharing model is discretionary, whereby the President may appoint members of the opposition who contested the 2023 elections into various roles within the government.”
He further explained that the structure of the power-sharing model could be influenced by the percentage of votes received during the election, suggesting that public support may play a role in determining its scope and implementation.
According to Khan, the initiative is part of President Bio’s broader commitment to inclusive governance and national reconciliation.
