Police report reaching this medium indicates that one Ben Hassan Bangura, who is a vibrant youth and the son of late Mr. Bangura in the Mayoppoh Community, Northern part of SierraLeone have been declared ‘Wanted Person’ by the Sierra Leone Police in connection of land conflict between him and his uncle together with community youths which resulted the killing of one Mohamed Kamara.
According to investigation mounted by this medium in respect of the said matter, it was revealed by family source that Ben late father, Mr. Bangura, left behind properties including a very big plot of lands situated in a lucrative area in SierraLeone in which his uncle wanted to take advantage over him.
It is also revealed that Ben Uncle was a secret Society activist and has been behind Ben to join him, but he refused to do so.
As a result of Ben refusal coupled with the rivalry with his Uncle for the land, a grudge ensued between the two.
A friend of Ben Hassan Bangura, who spoke to this medium on condition of anonymity said that Ben Hassan Bangura Uncle was a very powerful traditional man who is well known and command her high respect within the present government and community stakeholders.
He explained that on one faithful morning some unknown youths went to the said land with all sort of offensive weapons accompanied by Ben Uncle to make sure the forcefully take the possession of the land that belongs to the late Father of Ben Hassan Bangura.
In that process, news broke out that another youths from other community stormed the land claiming possession of it which resulted into confrontation between the two set of groups; resulting in the death of 25 years old Mohamed Kamara who was brutally killed as a result of the fight for the land.
Eyewitnesses explained that immediately after the riot, Police Officers stormed the scene as they were accompanied by some unknown youths to raid the home of Ben Hassan Bangura.
The house of Ben was completely burnt down by the youths who were arrested by the Police and taken them to unknown places.
Family Sources say Ben was not in the house at the time of the raid and has left the house in fear of being captured or dead on the 9th August,2022.
“Since Ben Hassan Bangura disappeared in the house on the night of August 9; we are unable to locate him up to date nor did we have any idea about his whereabouts”, Family Members revealed, while weeping tears.
They also expressed fear for Ben life, especially as there are news of people being executed by the security forces.
As the media pressed the police to comment on the arrest and disappearances of those arrested youths, the media officer of the Police explained that a list of wanted persons have been published by the Police, and there are others that they are looking for as they will not relent until they arrest and bring them to book.
As we go to press, the whereabouts of Ben Hassan Bangura is still unknown, and family members are feared that he may have been killed.
