APC Stalwart Calls For Resignation of SLPP Chairman

By Ilyasa Baa

A Sierra Leonean British citizen based in United Kingdom, Titus Boye Thompson, has called for the resignation of Prince Harding as Chairman of the SLPP.

Titus Boye-Thompson made this clarion call based on a statement made by Prince Harding that if he is seen as the  obstacle to the peace between the SLPP and APC, he is ready to be the sacrificial lamb by resigning from his party.

“Prince Harding should now come forward and resign from his chairmanship position because his presence in the SLPP is an obstacle to the peace process that the peacemakers have been calling for”.

Thompson said that the “The only thing that can bring political peace is when then SLPP Government considers to give positions to the opposition members in the governance of the state”, he proffered, noting how that will soften the grounds for lasting political peace to rein. “There should be a clear offer of position to opposition members as that could help to open the government system and framework”, he added.

He said there is too much power in the hands of President Bio, noting that when president was announced winner of the June 24 elections by ECSL, he took over all the state institutions including the police, the judiciary and the military.

Titus Boye-Thompson is a writer and political analyst having worked at the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone but now he is in estate business in the United Kingdom.

It could be recalled that Prince Harding has been on the spotlight for his political rhetoric against the opposition APC.
