Newborn Baby Mysteriously Disappears at Cottage Hospital

Report reaching Voice of Salone Newspaper revealed that a newborn baby has been reportedly disappeared in recent days at the PCMH Ola During Children’s popularly known as Cottage.
According to report gathered by this press, the new born baby disappeared after being given birth to by her mother through caesarean surgery.
In an emotional mood while speaking to Journalists, the sister of the missing child, Fatmata Mansaray, recalled on June 2nd, 2025 when she accompanied her pregnant sister to the Cottage hospital for delivery.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the lady disclosed that a medical examination was conducted and the findings revealed that a caesarean surgery should be done on her sister for the delivery of her baby.
Before the surgery could be done, an amount of Le2,000 had been requested for by the doctor, but the lady negotiated the reduction of the amount to Le1,500 -an agreement was reached between the two parties before the conduction of the surgery.
To cut the long story short, the surgery was done successfully with the mother and the child survived death. After that, the baby was taken to a different room in the hospital, and was separated from her mother who was undergoing serious labour pains after the surgery. On June 3rd,2025 when Madam Mansaray went to the hospital to deliver diapers for the baby, she noticed the missing of the baby in the room.
“The baby has disappeared from the bed where I left him from”, Madam Mansaray disclosed, and asked about the whereabouts of the baby, but she couldn’t get the correct answer from the nurse, prompting her to raise the alarm that led to the search for the missing child in the hospital. The search for the missing child continued for the rest of that day, but the child could no longer be found.
However, the Sierra Leone Police who stormed the scene provided security for the search of the missing child. The Police collaborate with the Hospital management to search for the child but he was no longer to be found.
On 11th June,2025, the Hospital Management confirmed through a press release about the mysterious disappearance of a newborn baby and the tireless efforts being made by the Sierra Leone Medical Association and the Sierra Leone Nurse Association to locate the missing child. The said Associations appeal to the general public for information leading to the whereabouts of the child. A reward of Le100,000 to the first person whose lips lead to the baby’s safe discover.
It is important to note that this is not the first time Cottage hospital has been on the spotlight for missing of child.
