NatCA Director General Extends Support to Fasting Muslims and Christians

The Director General of the National Telecommunications Authority (NatCA), Amara Brewa, has donated food and other essential items to fasting Muslims and Christians, reinforcing Sierra Leone’s long-standing tradition of religious harmony and mutual support.

The donation ceremony, held at NatCA’s headquarters at Hill Station in Freetown, brought together religious leaders and community members observing the fasting season. The gesture was aimed at supporting both Muslim and Christian faithful during this important period of spiritual reflection, sacrifice and prayer.

Speaking during the presentation, Brewa said the initiative was part of his commitment to promoting unity and compassion among Sierra Leoneans regardless of religious background. He noted that the country’s strength lies in its ability to uphold peaceful coexistence among different faiths.

He called on religious leaders to continue preaching tolerance, peace and understanding within their communities, emphasizing that national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity.

“Sierra Leone has always been a shining example of religious tolerance,” Brewa stated, urging citizens to preserve the culture of respect that has long defined relations between Muslims and Christians in the country.

The NatCA Director General also reaffirmed his support for the development vision of President Julius Maada Bio, noting that acts of compassion and community engagement are essential to building a cohesive society.

Religious leaders who attended the event commended Brewa for the timely intervention, describing it as a meaningful demonstration of solidarity with believers observing the fasting season.

Sierra Leone is widely recognized for its tradition of interfaith harmony, where Muslims and Christians often celebrate and support each other during major religious observances. Brewa’s gesture, many observers noted, reflects that enduring national value and serves as a reminder of the importance of unity in national development.
