Local Government Ministry to Redefine Village Boundaries in Urban and Rural Areas

The Ministry of Local Government has issued a public notice announcing its intention to formally separate specific villages in both urban and rural areas, in line with its mandate to promote inclusive governance, improve service delivery, and strengthen local administration.

As part of this initiative, the following villages have been identified and qualified to stand alone as independent communities:
• Black Johnson
• During Town
• Bankor
• Yarms Farm New State
• Newton
• Tree Planting
• Kobo
• Mabala
• Kodollo
• Upper and Lower
• Grassfield
• Majeitown

These communities will be officially detached from their current administrative areas (as detailed in the notice) to enable more effective governance and localized service delivery.

This move is aimed at:
• Enhancing community development
• Ensuring fair and improved representation
• Bringing government services closer to the people
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to working closely with local authorities and community leaders to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition.
