Lamin Kamara, the son a popular Secret Society activist in Kamabai in the northern province of Sierra Leone is currently on the run for fear of being initiated to replace his father, Pa Kamara, into the Gbangbani Secret Society after his demise on the 7th January,2019.
According to investigation mounted by this press, it came out glaringly that the father of Lamin Kamara, Pa Kamara, a carpenter, was a staunch member of the Gbangbani Society in Kamabai.
During his days in the society, Pa Kamara, had involved in human sacrifices and other inhuman practices to appease the gods in the Gbangbani Society. He even signed a covenant with the gods for his son, Lamin Kamara, to take over from his bloodlust and bloodletting business whenever he passed on.
Since the demise of Pa Kamara, members of the society were pressurizing Lamin Kamara to replace his father as per the covenant tied with the gods of the society, but the latter’s declined because he does believe in his father’s dream.
Lamin, after getting immense pressure from members of the society, took the bold step to convert to Christian and began to follow the footpath of the Christianity religion. He became an adherer of the words of God by living a Christ-like life.
Lamin’s decision did not go down well with the members of the Secret Society, whom, were searching and hurting him so that they could forcefully initiate him into the society, but they were unable to succeed because Lamin disappeared in a thin air.
This Press, however, noticed the disappearance of Lamin Kamara when we tried to reach him, but he was nowhere to be found.
We later discovered through his friends and people around him that Lamin is at large and had fled to an undisclosed location for safe haven. According to Lamin’s friends, their comrade has gone to place where his right to association is respected without threat to his life.
In an Interview with members of the community where Lamin has been living, they stated their position very clear for Lamin to continue to stay where he is until the matter is resolved and his security guaranteed.
Meanwhile, the sum of Le500,000 was set aside by top members of the Gbangbani Society calling on members of the public to provide accurate information that will lead to the capture of Lamin Kamara. Since that money was aside, nobody has ever come forward to disclose the whereabouts of Lamin Kamara.
Conclusively, the Family members of Lamin Kamara are of the views that if Lamin is alive, he will face the worse, but if he is dead, their case will be left to the Almighty God.
This press has made a follow up visit to the residence of Lamin Kamara and even did several background investigations to enquire about the whereabouts of Lamin Kamara and to know if he is alive, but we were unable to locate him
In our several investigations, we discovered the desperation of members of the society to get rid of Lamin Kamara and initiate him at all cost.
