Kamarainba Granted Bail

Appeals Court Judge Momoja Stevens has on Friday 8th September, 2023 granted bail to Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray following an application by notice of motion filed by lead counsel, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai representing Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray.  The lead Counsel filed eighteen grounds of appeal immediately after the conviction of his client. The lawyer moved the court and asked that Kamarainba be granted bail on grounds of his present medical condition. Assisted by Alie Turay ESq, James Bockarie Esq and Mary Solomon, Dr. Abdulai told the court that bail is discretional and guided his pleas referencing the statute that his client has excellent and winnable and that the law allows the court to grant him bail on compassionate grounds. After listening to the state counsel, Yusuf I Sesay, the judge granted bail to Kamarainba with the condition that the convict passport be with the court and a surety is resident in Freetown.

Due to his severe medical condition, Kamarainba will be hospitalized as he continues his medical treatment.
