Justice Stevens Placed on Administrative Leave Amid Media Storm

The Judiciary of Sierra Leone has announced that Appeal Court Judge, Hon. Justice Mohamed Momoh Jah-Stevens, has been placed on administrative leave with immediate effect.
According to a press release, the decision follows widespread media reports concerning the judge which, it stated, carry “the tendency to adversely affect the reputation of the Judiciary.”
Chief Justice Komba Kamanda has further referred Justice Jah-Stevens to the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (JLSC) for review. The Commission will assess the matter and determine any further action.
The Judiciary emphasized that this step reflects its ongoing commitment to upholding public trust and ensuring accountability within the courts.
Justice Jah-Stevens recently came under public scrutiny after filing a domestic violence case against the mother of his child, Edwina Jamiru. The matter escalated when a video of Jamiru surfaced on social media, in which she accused the judge of failing to adequately support their child, alongside other personal allegations.
