Jagaban Vows to Challenge ‘Incredible’ Results in APC Ward Elections

One of the leading flagbearer aspirants of the All People’s Congress (APC), Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has vowed to challenge what he described as “incredible” results from the party’s recently concluded ward elections.
Speaking to supporters, Jagaban declared that his camp would formally contest results from wards where, according to him, party members were allegedly denied the opportunity to vote.
“We are challenging all results out there wherein the people were not allowed to vote. And all the elections that are not free and fair, the appropriate authority should redo them,” he stated.
He called on the party’s elders and national leadership to take decisive and corrective action to address reported irregularities, emphasizing that internal democracy must be upheld if the party hopes to maintain credibility nationally.
“Charity begins at home,” he added, stressing that the APC must demonstrate transparency and fairness within its own ranks before seeking to govern the country.
Jagaban further urged party stakeholders across the country to remain vigilant and protect the votes of members during internal processes. According to him, his nationwide campaign tour has given him firsthand engagement with ward members across all regions, claiming he is the first aspirant to have directly met grassroots delegates in nearly every corner of the country.
He alleged incidents of malpractice, including ballot stuffing and the concealment of ballot boxes in private residences — practices he said undermine the integrity of the party’s internal elections.
“The party needs to stop ballot stuffing and the hiding of ballot boxes in people’s houses,” he asserted.
The APC ward elections form a critical part of the party’s lower-level electoral process, which will eventually feed into higher internal structures ahead of the party’s national delegate conference and the selection of its 2028 presidential flagbearer.
As tensions rise in some areas over disputed outcomes, political observers note that how the party leadership handles these complaints could significantly influence unity and cohesion within the APC moving forward.
