International Peace Guarantors Set for Crucial Talks With APC Leadership

The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) has confirmed that International Moral Guarantors for Peace will meet with the leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) tomorrow, as part of ongoing efforts to advance dialogue and review progress on national unity and governance reforms.
In a letter dated April 7, 2026, the ICPNC formally notified the APC of a scheduled visit by a delegation of International Moral Guarantors, set to take place from April 13 to 17, 2026. The mission is aimed at supporting the implementation of the Agreement for National Unity and the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee report.
The communication, addressed to the APC Secretary-General at the party’s Old Railway Line headquarters in Brookfields, Freetown, stated that the visit will focus on assessing progress made so far and identifying practical steps to further strengthen national cohesion and democratic governance.
The delegation will be jointly led by Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, alongside the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, operating through the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel. They will be supported by technical experts from partner institutions.
During their stay, the delegation is expected to engage a broad spectrum of political actors and stakeholders across the country. These consultations are intended to produce a clear roadmap and monitoring framework for tracking the implementation of both the Unity Agreement and the Tripartite Committee’s recommendations.
A key highlight of the visit will be a scheduled meeting with the APC leadership on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the party’s headquarters. The engagement, set for 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will center on critical issues including peacebuilding, political dialogue, and the consolidation of national stability.
The ICPNC expressed optimism that the visit will yield constructive outcomes, strengthen cooperation among political stakeholders, and reinforce ongoing efforts to sustain peace and democratic progress in Sierra Leone
