Fatima Bio Exposes Gender Injustice within Bio’s Administration

By VOS Writer

During a passionate engagement with SLPP members and sympathizers in the United States, First Lady Fatima Bio expressed deep concern over the internal injustices within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), particularly the treatment of women leaders.

Turning to broader party dynamics, Mrs. Bio criticized what she described as systemic neglect and injustice toward the women’s leadership within the party. She noted a clear disparity between how male and female party leaders are treated.

“Every District Chairman in the SLPP has a job,” she stated bluntly. “But ask how many of our Regional Women Leaders have been given jobs — the answer is none.”

She accused the party of failing to reward the sacrifices made by loyal women, warning that internal divisions and the marginalization of grassroots female leaders could weaken the SLPP’s position ahead of the 2028 elections.

Mrs. Bio also  expressed deep appreciation for Hawa Foray, describing her as a key pillar in her journey to becoming First Lady. She disclosed that when she initiated the national distribution of sanitary pads, it was Hawa Foray who facilitated all the logistics, making the campaign a success across the districts.

“Hawa Foray was the brain behind many of my early successes,” she said, urging the party to recognize those who labored during the hard times.
