Fatima Bio Declares Herself Messenger of President Bio

During a passionate engagement with SLPP members and sympathizers in the United States, First Lady Fatima Bio, openly declared herself a Messenger of President Julius Maada Bio, reaffirming her political role as one that is fully guided by her husband.
“I am a Messenger of President Bio”, she stated, adding that she operates politically only within the boundaries set by the President.
Mrs.Bio emphasized her active involvement in politics is not independent but rooted in loyalty and obedience to her husband directives, reinforcing her position as a supportive First Lady whose actions align strictly with the President’s vision and leadership.
“Anything I do in politics has to be within the confines of President Bio’s instruction,” she said, adding, “I did not marry Maada Bio, but it is him that married me.”
She also noted that going against her husband’s directives brings her discomfort at the State Lodge, implying that harmony at the Presidential residence depends on her adherence to his guidance.
Highlighting her active role in party politics, Mrs. Bio explained that her involvement stems not from personal ambition but from a commitment to safeguard the future of the SLPP.
“I have sacrificed a lot to bring the SLPP to power in 2018,” she said. “I will not sit down and watch the party return to opposition in 2028. That is why I am fully involved in the political process.”
She spoke passionately about the personal and political sacrifices she endured during the SLPP’s struggle to regain power, underscoring that her contributions were not limited to ceremonial duties but extended deeply into strategic mobilization and grassroots engagement.
The First Lady’s remarks come at a time when the SLPP is preparing to consolidate its political base ahead of the 2028 elections, with her statements reaffirming her central role in both party unity and campaign strategy.
