Ernest Koroma Invited For Questioning

The SierraLeone Police has invited Former President Ernest Bai Koroma to answer to questions pertaining the failed coup which happened on November 26.

A Statement from the Minister of information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, dated 7th December, 2023, reveals that the Former President Koroma has been invited by the Country’s Criminal Investigations Department to help with investigations on the failed coup on November 26. “The Former President is invited to assist the Police in the ongoing criminal investigations into the November 26th failed coup in Sierra Leone”, says the Minister in his statement, adding that the Former President is expected to report within a period of 24 hours.

Acknowledging receipt of the invitation, Ex-President Koroma called on the public to remain calm over his police invitation.

“I maintain an open mind and stand ready to support the police investigations to the fullest…Let the rule of law reigns supreme in our democracy”, said the Ex-President in a statement released on Thursday, adding that he will be travelling to Freetown to honour the said invitation.

In his 2nd address to the nation, President Bio insisted that the November 26 attempted coup will be treated as a law and order issue and wherever the evidence leads regardless of the individual status will face the full weight of the law.
