The sledgehammer of President Bio on Black Friday, 13th December, 2024, fell on two key Ministers of Government: Mohamed Lamin Tarawallie, who was serving as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and Major General Rtd David Taluva, serving as Internal Affairs Minister, replacing them with Alpha Sesay as the new Attorney General, and Morie Lengor, as Internal Affairs Minister.
As usual, the President has not given any valid reason for such action, but speculation is rife that the President has decided to restructure his cabinet by prioritizing loyalty over tribe, ethnicity, and favorism. This surprise cabinet reshuffle is an example of what the President stands for by bringing loyal players onboard to seek his personal interest.His action has sent shockwaves among officials of government, who are now feeling jittery about their stay in office.
Credible Sources within Government circle disclosed that the action of the President has caused sleepless nights for many ministers, who are of the view that their chances of retaining their position is still hanging in the balance.
Sources within State House confided in this press that long before now, the President has built a Jericho fence between himself and officials of Government, by refusing to meet and accept any gifts from them.
“Nowadays, many officials in the Government are finding it extremely difficult to meet with the President”, said our State House source. There is also the view that the President will soon release the bigger cabinet Bombshell.
