Manifesting his desperation to become the SLFA President at all cost, Babadie Kamara had in some month ago engaged Paramount Chiefs in Kono to seek their blessings and endorsement. His action has been frowned at by many football stakeholders and followers who have labeled him to mixing politics with football.
“What role do the paramount Chiefs play in the SLFA Election”, Mohamed Sesay, a strong follower of football asked, adding that it seems like Babadie has lost his direction to seek endorsement to the wrong people.
Several football analysts have condemned Babadie’s action, describing it as a misplaced one.
“How can Babadie do such things when he knows that FIFA frowns at mixing politics with sport… Our Chiefs are traditional authorities that play politics at a lower level in ushering peace and security in their Chiefdoms amongst the people and Government to usher in development with partners”, Foday Kamara, a football commentator averred and described Babadie’s action as a misplaced priority. Others football lovers have also expressed similar sentiments and called on FIFA to take action.
