Attorney General Holds Strategic Talks with APC on Constitutional and Electoral Reforms

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay, on Friday hosted senior leaders of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for substantive discussions on Sierra Leone’s ongoing constitutional and electoral reform processes.

The meeting, held at the Guma Building in Freetown, reflects the Government’s commitment to fostering inclusive, bipartisan dialogue on issues of national importance.

During the engagement, the Attorney General highlighted the shared responsibility of all political actors to ensure that the constitutional review and the implementation of recommendations from the Tripartite Committee remain transparent, participatory, and aligned with the will of the people.

Mr. Sesay stressed the importance of reforms that are people-centered and broadly inclusive, noting that processes of such national significance must be credible and fully owned by citizens to strengthen democratic governance.

“The Government looks forward to continuing these engagements with all parties. We will do this for Sierra Leone,” he affirmed.

The discussions are expected to continue in the coming weeks as the country advances efforts to consolidate democratic gains and build consensus on key governance reforms.
