As Dictatorship President Resigns… Sanity Returns To Drivers Union

The Dictatorship President of the Drivers Union, Alpha Amadu Bah, who has long overstayed in office, has tendered his resignation as President of the Union. His resignation comes after the Intervention of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Morie Lengor, who has demonstrated willingness to restore sanity in the Union at all cost.

Driving by his intervention, the Minister engaged the Union Executive members and gathered their views which aimed at resolving the long-standing impasse of the Union elections with the objective to foster cooperation and maintaining peaceful co-existence.

The Minister explained about his engagement with the Union Stakeholders which revolves around the way forward and how to make better decisions for the Union to have a free, fair and credible elections.

During the process, the Minister dissolved and established an interim Executive led by the Vice President and charging them  with the responsibility to man the affairs of the Union until fresh elections are conducted.

The Minister admonished the Interim Executive to remain peaceful and unite their membership.

He elucidated by stating that a date for the next election of the Union will be communicated after consultations will be held  with other Stakeholders for a convenient time.

Meanwhile, the Minister admonished everyone including the caretaker Executive to be peaceful and be united at all time.

After several deliberations, the President of the Union, Mr. Alpha Amadu Bah, agreed to step aside, for peace to reign and for the Union to stay together.
