APC Vows to Use Democratic Means To Prevent Electoral Malpractice in 2028

Spokesperson for the All People’s Congress (APC), Sidie Yayah Tunis, has firmly stated that the party is prepared to use lawful and democratic channels to ensure transparency in the 2028 elections and to prevent any repeat of the alleged irregularities reported during the 2023 polls.

According to Tunis, the APC will not accept any election outcome in 2028 that is not credible or reflective of the will of the people.

He further alleged that state security forces were used against the party during the 2023 elections, referencing an incident involving the APC office where, he claimed, one woman lost her life and senior security personnel were present.

Tunis also criticized recent public statements attributed to senior SLPP officials, including Party Chairman Jimmy Batilo Songa and Moses Mambu, arguing that such remarks could heighten political tensions. He suggested that if similar remarks had been made by APC officials, they would have faced immediate consequences.

Despite these concerns, Tunis emphasized that the APC remains committed to peace and stability in Sierra Leone. He reiterated the party’s stance on promoting unity and non-violence while preparing for future elections through democratic means.
