APC Plans Protest Over PR and Redistricting System

A staunch member of the All People’s Congress (APC), Minkailu Koroma, has reiterated his party’s strong opposition to the Proportional Representation (PR) system and the ongoing redistricting process. He emphasized that if the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government continues to impose these measures, the APC will have no choice but to resist them through all legal means — including staging a peaceful protest to demonstrate to the people of Sierra Leone their disapproval of the government’s decision.
Koroma accused the SLPP government of laying the groundwork to rig the 2028 elections through the PR system and redistricting, asserting that the APC will not sit idly by and allow such actions to take place.
“The SLPP government does not have the necessary data to carry out a credible redistricting process,” he stated. “They want to use the PR system and redistricting as tools to manipulate the 2028 elections. If the government continues to impose these measures on the people of Sierra Leone, the APC will resist them by any means necessary.”
